SEPTEMBER GALLERY WALK DELAYED!

The September 5th Gallery Walk is delayed until NEXT Friday, September 12, 2008!

Please join us on September 12th as we celebrate Wilmington artist Wendy Kowalski who brings in her newest series "An Octopus's Garden" - 5 to 7pm!

Our Featured Artist for the September Gallery Walk will be Wendy Kowalski. We will feature Ann Thompson in October, a mystery artist in November, and we will host a holiday bazaar in December. See more about Wendy and Ann on our Featured Artists page.

This year marks the first official Gallery Walk in Southport. Lantana's has done it's own opening receptions for artists since opening in June 2007; now we are joining forces with the Franklin Square Gallery, Ricky Evans Gallery, and the Cape Fear Coppershop for a greater art experience in Southport! Each month through December, come out on the First Friday from 5 to 7pm to be part of the Gallery Walk. Cruise the streets, or enjoy a complementary buggy ride, seeing art, friends, music, and more. Wine and nibblies will be served at Lantana's and many artists will be at the gallery to answer questions. Let us help you with any art related questions you might have. Our resident artist, Hilary Meehan, is an MFA trained artist who is happy to help make art a more enjoyable experience for all! See you at the Gallery Walk!

Claire Murray Spa Line, Quilts, and Chesapeake Bay rugs NOW IN STOCK!

The spa line has Claire's signature Mermaids decorating votive candles, bath salts, hand lotion, body butter, and french milled soaps. The scent is fresh with lavendar & cucumber!

Claire's quilt line has two styles with two colors options - one is an embroidered mermaid on a solid backing - the other is a cottage floral with stripes on the opposite side - all are 100% cotton and have matching shams to coordinate!

We will post photos soon of the Chesapeake Bay rug line. These rugs are not in the current Claire Murray catalog because they are so new! This is the line Claire introduced when she visited in May. The colors remind you of Old Bay & a summer afternoon sky. There are blue crabs, of course, and a lobster or striped bass, too. The Chesapeake Bay collection is accented on all styles with very happening stripes - come see!

Claire Murray! Live-in-Person!

We have been afforded an exceptional opportunity to host Claire Murray, THE Claire Murray of Claire Murray Rugs, at Lantana's. Since becoming a Signature Store for Claire Murray's handhooked wool rugs in January, we have been welcomed into their family of stores and even visited by the President of the Claire Murray company, Mr. Michael Blackman! We are also working with Claire to develop a signature Southport rug.

Now we've learned that Claire is planning to visit all of her Signature Stores this spring and summer! Claire is the designer extraordinaire for each Claire Murray rug. You simply must see these beauties in person to believe them! Each rug combines elegant and whimsical characters, flora or fauna, along with exquisite color choices rendered in 100% hooked wool with a natural canvas backing. Seagoing ships, mermaids, shells, fish, flowers, baskets, porches, dots, birds, and even cauliflower are featured in her rugs.

North Carolina Fourth of July Festival

Lantana's is located just off of the parade route in downtown Southport, NC - home of the official North Carolina Fourth of July Festival.
